Implant Retained Restorations

Implant restorations are rapidly being accepted as the standard of care when treating edentulous or partially edentulous patients. Implant-based restorations offer excellent stability, function, and esthetic results.
Full Dental Restoration

Every patient is different and comes with a dental issue specific to their case. When they require full dental reconstruction, the dentist has to deliver a custom-made solution that will look as natural as possible. Stellenbosch Lab’s implants are tailored to suit the requirements presented in each case. We utilise only the best materials from the industry’s most reputable names.

Screw-Retained Restorations

Screw-retained restorations are screwed onto a screw-retained abutment that is positioned on the implant, or directly on the implant. Screw-retained restorations allows the clinician to place the implant without any cement line clean-up after placement.  They are one of the most secure and easy ways to maintain a full prosthetic replacement. The materials we use for screw-retained full dental restorations are::

  • PFM (titanium base)
  • Zirconium (titanium base)
Cement-Retained Restorations

Cement-retained restorations are a more traditional method of full dental replacement where a crown or a bridge is attached to an implant-retained abutment. To create this type of restorations, Oceanic Dental Lab uses:

  • PFM (custom made abutment)
  • Zirconia (custom made abutment)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is an artificial tooth replacement that looks and functions like a natural tooth. The procedure requires a titanium post to be fused to the patient’s jawbone to act as a tooth root, stimulating bone growth in the jaw. After the post has successfully fused to the jaw, an artificial tooth is screwed to the abutment on the post, replacing the missing teeth. They can be used to restore one or more missing teeth.

How long do dental implants last?

Dental implants are known to last for 25 years, but in some instances, they last the patient’s entire lifetime if they are properly taken care of.

Are dental implants expensive?

Dental implant restorations are more expensive than getting regular dentures or dental bridges. However, they are also more durable than both options. The amount of money people spend to replace their dentures and bridges make implants the cheaper option in the long run.

What makes me an ideal candidate for dental implants?

Dentists consider people with healthy gums and higher bone density the ideal candidates for dental implant restorations because the chances of the titanium posts fusing successfully to the jawbone are higher. The healthy gums also indicate that the gum tissue will heal more quickly.
